Your analysis of Rufus is even more valid when you talk to victims of Rufus going back 6 years as I have. They have all heard the same story.. spun in different directions but always the same. HUGE numbers.. the kind that are so big a lot of people don't question them. It's funny that way, how if a person tells you he has investments of a few hundred thousand or a million, then you often feel compelled to make a reality check but let that same guy throw around a real complex sounding conversation about hypothecation and international bonds with denominations on the hundreds of millions and billions and all of a sudden people don't feel qualified or something to question him... even if he comes across as a semi-literate hick using words like "brung" and "ain't" while acting in a most arrogant fashion.
I have interviewed victims of his GWH LLC scam as well as people who have been involved with this latest iteration, the Waatle/CVSU con. To a person they all have one thing to say about Rufus... he is a liar and a cheat and that he conned them out of money or promised things and never delivered on a single one causing them anything from emotional distress to serious business problems as a result.
The one person I haven't interviewed but would really like to is his mother. I would be very interested to hear what she has to say about his Greneleaf Country club scam.
