The samples/vouchers are meant to provide the patient for a safety and efficacy free trial. If the samples are ineffective or cause side effects they will not fill their prescription..hence no sales for the company, only an expense on the samples. This is far better than receiving a 30 day script and throwing it away due to side effects. Actipatch samples need to be distributed to high targeted Pain clinics for the same reasons.

BTW, the physician does not make money on the samples, only the office visit. In fact, the physician does not even make money on the prescription, only the pharmaceutical company does.

I may be wrong, but for NHS reimbursement, is an Actipatch only reimbursed via a physician prescription. Or, is it reimbursed by NHS for direct consumer purchase? TIA

Yup, we have the "street corner pusher" and the "white coat pusher". Wonder if it has anything to do with the current crisis? Lets see, we now limit the white coat pusher through making it harder to prescribe, without accountability, hmmmmmm, So the shift returns to the street corner. A 50 year War on Drugs, billions spent, and all we have to show for it, is a Nation wide crisis. We are currently looking for any and all alternatives to the addicting pain and people killing drugs, as per the POTUS. What we have is a "failure to communicate" oh that quote is from a Movie not mine, don't want be accused of plagiarizing. See the FDA is having a problem helping us find those any and all alternatives, kinda like not being able to see the Forest, for the trees, that is someone else's quote. See the addict doesn't care where he gets his drugs, he only cares that he gets them. So he's now addicted and will sacrifice his/her family and his freedom to obtain them. Does anyone know of an alternative out there, that could be bought off the shelf or recommended by a Dr. instead of the "addicting" drugs? "What's that you say", the National Health System in the UK is already on top of it? Hmmmmmmm, tic toc, the alarm is about to go off in the FDA's Office, to WTFU. Just my humble opinion. Have a great day all.
