To recognize market trends, you have to look at the whole market, not isolated vendors and isolated market segments. The trends are pretty clear at this point.
Here´s the most important one for AMD investors: "For the first time, x86 servers using Intel and AMD chips outpaced RISC servers in revenue. The x86 market grew 10.7 percent to $4.46 billion versus a 5.2 percent drop in RISC sales to $4.33 billion."
BTW, while IBM, Fujitsu and DELL were all able to increase their server revenue by about 10%, HP´s remained flat. I doubt HP is too happy about this.
