I'm still convinced they really did cut a deal with Pino early on, and then got cold feet in late July or early August, when shareholders began complaining.

Yeah, and they covered most of the stock. Butttt....there is the issue of the extra 84 million shares the DTC somehow allowed and another 20 million post halt shares via UBS.
