Trouble with all this is seemingly very simple ... at what point can an "investor" give up ? Li has made that simple decision very difficult but I can't believe that all those who have gone before him were stupid people and their failures cannot at all be ignored.
You'd have to ask him if he wants to give up 63 mill that's owned by Eontec's shareholders, which includes him.
None of those before him were self-made, nor did they have the science and manufacturing background he has, the Chinese connections he has, or, most importantly, the personal stake.
