Jawsmoke. I really like New International Version. I know a lot of Pastors use it around here.

Here is a link with all the different ones if you'd like to compare.

http://www.biblegateway.com/

Just click on the arrow after it says New International Version and you can choose what you like after you find a verse you'd like to use to compare with.

I personally use the New King James Version plus the New International Version together. They are the study Bible, red letter and LARGE PRINT editions. I use other Bibles Scofield, New English, Jerusalem Bible, 1611 King James, Discovery Bible etc as references but the top two are my personal favourites.

jawmoke: BIBLE VERSIONS

Question about bible versions.. going back to studying the bible.. any advice on which translations are most accurate and which are easiest to read.. would be nice if one version did both.

The version you should get should depend on what you want.

If you want a literal word for word translation from the Hebrew & Greek, then I would suggest the King James, New King James (which is easier to read), or New American Standard Version.

If you want easy to read and only need what the translators of a particular version interpret the thought to be, then I would suggest the New International Version.

May I make a recommendation if this is going to be a study Bible? Why not get The Comparative Study Bible? The one I have contains the King James, New International Version, New American Standard, and the Amplified Bible.

It's a good study tool.
