jawmoke: BIBLE VERSIONS

Question about bible versions.. going back to studying the bible.. any advice on which translations are most accurate and which are easiest to read.. would be nice if one version did both.

The version you should get should depend on what you want.

If you want a literal word for word translation from the Hebrew & Greek, then I would suggest the King James, New King James (which is easier to read), or New American Standard Version.

If you want easy to read and only need what the translators of a particular version interpret the thought to be, then I would suggest the New International Version.

May I make a recommendation if this is going to be a study Bible? Why not get The Comparative Study Bible? The one I have contains the King James, New International Version, New American Standard, and the Amplified Bible.

It's a good study tool.
