The point that M is waiting for new rules to start trial is just a hoax with no supporting logic or documentation or any statement from M anywhere.
Supporting Logical argument: $24 million in the bank and a burn rate of 1/2 to 1 million dollars a month. That would leave somewhere between $12 million and $0 dollars in the bank after two years (if Anavex simply maintains the status quo of the single current 25 patient trial that Australia is subsidizing.)
A traditional Alzheimer’s trial would take two to three years and probably require thousands of patients. Wouldn’t logic dictate that Anavex only has enough money for a Phase 2/3 trial if it’s under a new set of rules?
By stipulating that the Alzheimer's trial will range 6-12 months (compared tot he usual ~3 years for past ones) indicates he is waiting for the new regs. Ditto for the Rett and PD trials.
