I concur with Dan. SuSe is not bundling any hardware with their software. Go to SuSe.com and enter
itanium sgi
in the search box. You will find 5 documents, none of which talk about any bundling and no references to the fact that SGI might bundle SuSe software with their Itanium servers.
That´s correct. A few months ago, I predicted that SuSE would be a company to watch in the next years. Since then, their Linux distribution has made big progress to become the OS of choice for many important server OEMs. Of course, they are also the primary AMD64 Linux distributor, which would greatly facilitate a potential move to Opteron in the next years, should the OEMs decide to adopt it.
