RWK--A brilliant and prescient post! You write:

"I wonder what the adoption rate for business and personal PC's would be in a virtual world in which a trusted identity was prerequisite for participation? Darn near 100% I would think".

When INTEL begins delivering Trusted PCs(with WAVE attestation capability) to the OEMs later this year, how quickly will such Trusted PCs accelerate in volume under a marketing blitz by TCG(financially supported of course by the major OEMs)?

If given a CHOICE between a Trusted PC vs a Non-Trusted PC, what choice does the IT administrator have?

HE HAS NO CHOICE!!!!!!!!!

Applets for emails would make sense. A TPM that provided a clean template or persistent virus/worm/cracker-buster would be invaluable in my opinion. As an "add-on" to existing applets it would seem a no-brainer. I'm not clear about the tech required but it seems like a bright "geek" could get it put together without too much difficulty.

As for "No other choice"... I firmly agree. I can't imagine that anyone I know would want to do a deal in a back alley when the bright light of day could be brought to the transaction. That is how this feels to me. The wheat will be rapidly culled from the chaff. those who want to play nasty tricks or worse will be rapidly diminished in their capability. TPMs may need some tweaking to get there, but, a new age in computing is sure to emerge when INTC places the tools in everyone's hands.

I'm glad to know about WAVX.
