From the second plot the slope started with average slope -.01MMSE/day to >-.01MMSE/day average that is for all in enviorment of increasing concentration of the drug. but this totally obscures the effect of positive scores of the high concentration Strong as those decilning do "a better job at it" (decilne more rapidly then the Strong improve). That is the distortion of taking the average in this particular case.

I'm not understanding the criticism/concern here. The 2nd plot is not an average...its the linear regression line for the raw data (best fit if the relationship is linear). If 2-73 is doing "a better job of it" at higher doses then that should be reflected in a steeper positive slope with high R^2, confidence intervals for slope that do not include negative values, and a F score that is statistically significant.
