#135590 RE: LessIsMore #135561

More recently NW proclaimed that he was giving up on his investment in NWBO. Even Warren Buffett (not Buffet) screws up once in awhile.

This is nonsense. He hasn't given up on NWBO. NW has more shares than all of us combined (23 million shares, i think). I wish I could give up on NWBO like that, lol.

Neil Woodford, the star fund manager, has thrown in the towel on his disastrous investment in Northwest Biotherapeutics, a US company labelled a “house of cards” by a short-seller.

A litany of problems at the company, which has been developing a novel brain cancer treatment, has seen the value of Woodford’s $180m investment dwindle to $15m (£11.9m).

Who gives a hoot what a "short-seller" says? Again, he did not throw in the towel. If you think he did, please explain how. HE owns 20+ million shares! no? Yes, NW investment has been disastrous...BECAUSE OF NW'S OWN ACTIONS!! HE PUBLICIZED HIS LETTER, SUPPORTING PHASE 5 REPORT ACCUSATIONS. Also, he mayhave been the source of the phase 5 report!

Northwest warned in a stock market filing last week that it would default on its debts unless it raised new funding. Its decision to delist from Nasdaq triggered an $11m bond repayment.

Yep, you are talking about the risk section. Every company writes down every possible issue that could even remotely occur. It's covering your ass. Go read any company's risk section. You wouldn't invest in any company. We live in a very litigious society. not worried.

Woodford Investment Management, the company’s second-biggest investor with a 21% stake, signalled this weekend that it would not put in any more money. It said: “We initially invested in Northwest because we believed in the technology. What we underestimated was how governance issues would undermine the fundamental technology story.”

So he invested $180 million into NWBO. He had no idea how terrible the company NWBO was. What bullshit! In my opinion, NW presented himself as a knight in shinning armor then he tried to take over the company, period. He thought LP was a dumb ass until she b-slapped him....HARD! Now he sits in the corner sulking. But....He ain't selling. I wonder why since he has a fiduciary responsibility to his shareholders!
