Bear I live here in southern CA too and my take is that people don't care if gas goes to $3. If they did care we wouldn' have the number of SUV's we have on our freeways. People are loaded and flush with cash from their refinanced cash-out real estate. They are driving expensive cars and buying boats. I went to a furniture going-out-of-business sale the other day and they wanted $800 for a broken table that I wouldn't pay $100 for. The guy didn't even bother to negotiate a lower price with me. ANd he is goin out of business! I am telling people have too much money around here.

Hmmm -- I paid $1.65 yesterday. Glad I'm not in California and don't have to pay for their super-duper ecological blend gas.

I paid 2.50 yesterday here in Scottsdale with tears of joy in my eyes. I waited in line an hour for the privilege.

Pretty ridiculous rise in prices...

A week ago yesterday I was on vacation and noticed that the local gas station there raised prices 4 cents to about 1.60. Thought about filling up, but decided to drive on home.

6 days later I see that local gas is 2.02 (probably up from about 1.65-1.70 the week before). I'm in shock.... I say... wow....... I'll get it tomorrow.

Next day I pass same station and it's 2.13! No time to fill up.

I complain to my sister who has an SUV and she says she went out and refused to pay 1.99 a few days ago. She passed a station for 1.89 and got half a tank, refusing to pay more. Yesterday the station was at 2.10........ she refuses to pay that again and today she decides she will have to get the other half her tank.......... SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Ridiculous....... so......... I'm going to forgo shopping....... again... and if this keeps up, I'll bet we get warnings again.

over 2 bucks for gas? I can understand Arizona for the short term, but geesh..

Here in NJ its about 1.60.. I complain every time I pull my shit wagon up to the pump.. if over 2? id have a stroke : )
