I was nine years old. They closed the schools. Mothers from the neighborhood came to pick us up (normally we walked). I didn't want a ride, but I was over-ruled. It was one hell of a storm up here. I can only imagine the damage it caused in FL.
If Irma equals or tops Donna, let's hope it is a once in a lifetime experience. However with global warming... who knows? <g>
