The securing of the Intellectual Property with A2-73 Plus Patent is extremely important for the overall IP protection of A2-73 but also from a timing perspective.
Biogen had to have been fairly certain the Anavex would secure to patent or else they would have not spent the money to reconfirm what the Wayne State MS Researchers had already shown in the Wayne State Labs. So they may have done a Material Transfer Agreement agreement for MS instead of a licensing deal until the Patent was secured.
The issuance of the Patent might cause an already agreed upon licensing deal for the 'narrow indication' of MS with Biogen to be finalized.
The 'Quiet Period' should end in a little over one week when Anavex Reports for Q3. We might soon see a avalanche of good news in conjunction with the Q3 Report.
