Any astronaut who climbed into a rocket to the moon and relied on faith would have been an idiot at best. They didn't of course. The astronauts who went to the moon were highly trained and experienced pilots with engineering degrees. They understood the details of the concept of space flight and knew the engineering details of the spacecraft. Was there a risk? Of course. Is it comparable to the endeavors of a company in a well known business? No

Faith wasn't a factor to them. They climbed aboard with the knowledge of the probabilities of success. The great risk they accepted was based on their desire to reach their goal and the value they placed on it. Going to the moon probably justified that risk but is investing in a particular company worth a great deal of risk? Not to me. I can achieve the same goal with much less risk so why bother?

Summed up, they asked a LOT of questions before lighting the fuse. They also were provided with a LOT of updated information during the flight. No one told Neil Armstrong, don't worry - be happy!
