Yes a point of sale ordering system...auto pilot meaning the retailers can tie the inventory on the shelves to the distributor to order as it clears. Far more efficient and keeps things clean in terms of retail inventory storage as well as accounting financially for the inventory surplus not used as they report.
I think people would be shocked at food/beverage distribution channels...your average grocer keeps a 2-3 day rolling inventory, the distributors keep slightly larger but for the region...the entire system is at best a 30 day supply if not two weeks. Age of computer and accounting schemes for cost/income revolutionized the industry. If it collapsed we're all f'd, but that's another topic lol.
