I'm just thinking far down the road. To my understanding, you are correct. I'm guessing they will win in a jury trial and the defendants will seek an appeal. If we can get a nice, fair agreement out of mediation, that is the best case scenario. No lengthy appeals process.
In any scenario, a cash settlement is not the end game. We want royalties! This thing has the potential to be a massive, long-term cash cow.
Sorry about that, got ahead of myself. Thought there had been a trial they way everyone has been acting. Sub the trial for the CAFC appeal. Then the CAFC appeal. Settlement will happen, but not for a while. Trial wont be scheduled til next year, then the appeal. Settlement can of course happen anytime, but absent a court decision on infringement, delay is still the option for Cisco. JMO.
