LHF you forgot IBM,they Actually offer a FREE encrypt/decrypt File software that works with their TPM Subsystem...Do your homework...IBM's current free subsystem software is more relevant than XP to a TPM!You're gonna get really freaked when you can download it from IBM's website!
I have seen you make this statement before. I am not aware that Microsoft's office suite contains this functionality working with the trusted platform module. At least I haven't seen anything from them indicating they have rewritten the code to work with the TPM. Do you have a link to this information or is it just something you picked up like I sometimes do?
Second the pages are short on some detail concerning services - how this gets authenticiated and how it is managed within an enterprise space. I'm sure we'll get this info from Wave soon and then we can also compare how it will work compared to the aforementioned Microsoft suite of services.
Two more points. Doma is accurate that IBM offers some software for free to work with its TPM. Seems like they thought what Wave offered was worth dealing with for their customers despite its exhorbitant price. Second although I am not an expert I have heard from other sources that a number of organizations were interested in wave's document manager. Sounded like it offered features that are not readily available elsewhere. All I am saying is that because someone offers a product for free, it doesn't mean that there isn't value derived from a superior more costly product used for the right purposes. But you really know all this I think?
