barge

This predates my investment with Wave, although I had previously read the PR in your post.

What happened? Did the Embassy e-Commerce System make it onto these motherboards, the HP Vectra PC, NEC 1999 models and other PC makers's models but just never gained traction, or what? It went through beta?

"The first implementation of the trusted-client technology (see separate announcement issued by Wave Systems) is the EMBASSY E-Commerce System. This implementation of the trusted-client system will be included on motherboard chip sets from leading PC component suppliers SMSC and ITE.

"As an established leader in PC manageability, HP plans to enhance its HP Vectra PC line even further by developing powerful, flexible security solutions for corporate customers," said Jean-Luc Meyer, marketing manager for HP’s Commercial Computing Division. "The new, trusted-client technology offers an exciting opportunity to make simplified, secure corporate computing a reality."

NEC Computer Systems Division (CSD), a leading manufacturer of computer products and solutions, has selected the EMBASSY E-Commerce System to provide the trusted-client capability for inclusion in select 1999 models. Other PC manufacturers also are expected to integrate trusted-client technology into their product lines during the next year."
