Vette always hugged the road good. Z06, up to $83,000 and 650 HP. Few roads built for that. A guy went under a semi in a light at an intersection. Took off a couple inches on top of car, but he came out without a scratch.
Vettes are nasty in the winter. You drive through deep enough snow and it will lift the car up enough so the tires won't touch the ground. Then you'll be there for hours digging it out to get the tires back on the pavement.
A guy had a 2 week old Vette. Went off the road and rolled it down a hill. He was ok but the Vette was totaled. Only thing that was good was 1 door. Insurance didn't want to pay the whole thing out, so they rebuilt the car around the door.
Vette engine has so much torque that it can hold up the front end of the car and the car will be level with only 1 tire on the front. It will hold it up for a couple blocks as you keep going faster, then you have to slow down and it starts to drop. Fantastic engine in every one.
The dream of the inventor of the Vette was to eventually make them with the engine behind the rear seat, with glass over the outside to see it. But eventually they knew that would never happen. But they wanted to do it to be able to say that their dream was done. So they built about 4 Vettes that way, with the engine behind the seats and glass over it so you could see it.
I repainted it once. Had to take the paint off with paint remover because body if fiberglass. Took a month and a half. 6 coats of metal flake blues followed by 2 coats of clear. Turned out fantastic. I hated to take it out and get it scratched.
