One player does not make a team. The reason why the Red Sox have fallen behind is there pitching it wouldn't matter if Ortiz was the best defensive 1b I have ever seen, it still doesn't help the Red Sox win game, when they throw out terrible pitching almost every night.

Offensive # is the most important part of the game for a hitter, I mean if that wasn't the case explain to me this.

Why does Ortiz make millions of dollars and is a star, who I agree couldn't field the baseball if he tried. And great defnesive players that can't hit struggle to make it, kicking around the league in and out of the minor making league minimum. Offense for a hitter is the most important part, not the only part, but the most important part by a country mile.

I mean how many time have you heard the statement, they will find a position for you if you can hit.
