Re: WHEN I see sales and market share pick up again, then I will remount the pom poms.

Fair enough. I don't think you'll be waiting long, though.

re: 6 years of technical trailing, Craig dicking around on his half a million acre ranch, bus loads of options, buying companies at the PEAK of price, and Intel STILL maintained its lead.

I place Intel's current situation directly at the feet of Barrett. For the reasons you stated. I also believe Ottolini is capable of turning this around ... and is in the process of doing so. Shame is the number of employees who are going to feel the pain in the process.

I agree with much of what you say.. we live in the mpu world, AMD constantly has advertisements putting Intel down, I think Intel should do this in kind. AMD is the darling of wall street because let's face it, the stock has more upswing than Intel... technically Intel is far ahead in fabrication - amd had a home run with opteron and intel has suffered because of the P4 and it's inability to quickly turn around (which I know is very difficult given Intel's hugeness). I think Intel and amd's customers want more of a duopoly, amd did seem to set them free to a certain degree also new management in some of their customers helped amd as there wasn't history between intel say and Hurd. It is an ongoing saga, not a 3 act play but it does look as though Intel has been tarnished, which is a shame, as they have the best people in the world. I'm hoping on wbmw's scenario.
