Trump is repealing/rolling back as much of the regulation as he can from the crap Obama put in while he was in office. I heard Trump say the other day that they could eliminate 75% or more of what was currently in place. He mentioned that all the CEO's he had spoken with were saying the U.S. regulation was more onerous in doing business in this country than anything else. It's no damn wonder the jobs have left to go somewhere else. We've been cutting our own throats when it comes to new manufacturing and keeping industry in general here. Not to mention trade agreements that have been detrimental to jobs staying in the U.S., like Trump said all of our trading partners have been eating our lunch.
Yes, any tax/tariff is just an added cost to the price of the goods placed on it. In turn that comes back as a tax to final buyer. The Consumer. In the end it does no good for anyone and IMO I think Trump is using it as a wake up call for our abusive trade partners.
I'll be surprised if Trump calls their bluff, but ya never know.
I'm sure many of the FFMGF holdings have nice silver resources on them, so that is attractive. Mexico is one of world's biggest silver producers, so if Trump taxes their silver I guess we could expect much higher prices.
What I liked about the ZH article on the G.Depression what the comparisons made between now and then. As was stated in the article, the dependency on government assistance back then was almost nill from what it is today. Government help was mostly in the form of the work programs FDR put in place. That's back when you STILL had to work for a paycheck, even if it was coming from the government. I think we could see those times come again.
