Wooferwax, interesting that Chinnock identifies it as Uni-Kisco film. I wonder if they have a way to produce it or are working with someone else--possibly Nitto R+D to produce the actual film--who knows. Uniglobe appears very deeply into building and brokering relationships. I like this a lot. They could be full of surprises. Also with large scale R2R production on the near horizon I wonder how these small test film samples are produced? Does a big production facility do a small test run of film--or can a small sample made in the lab that is a meaningful example of growing industrial scale? In any case the tight linkage of QD research, film production and display manufacturer is complex. Samsung has it all in house and has a huge lead as a result. But as others have said "this industry is in its infancy"

Just to throw in a little practical input again. If they just completed a product that is acceptable to a display manufacturer, it could be months before a contract is finalized and announced.

As a project manager, I get involved in contract negotiations for existing and new contracts. Contract negotiations are not an easy task. All parties have to agree on ownership of risks, product delivery schedule, quality, payment milestones, etc.

From my own experience, it's at a minimum 2-3 months of negotiation and edits prior to a contract of substantial value to be signed.

I'm hopeful that it's earlier and that they already started drafting the contracts prior to CES, but worse case start the count with CES and add 3 months.
