The gigafactory is not an asset and was just another distraction by Musk
to prop up valuation. Even with subsidies, manufacturing a commodity in US
will not be competitive with Asia. It also distracts from core business, but thats exactly why it was done.

... and Tesla still doesnt make the cells. Panasonic makes them, and cells
are still imported even when gigafactory is online.

Solor City is not an asset:
