I think your simplifying all this but regardless of what you think you read in investopedia, unsecured convertible bond holders that 'held' from at the BK date rank ahead of commons.
Its possible anyone that bought the unsecured bonds post BK may be in a different position due to a 'market discount' issue but I would need to do more research on this point.
