Why don't you take a look at the accounting books? If you have written something totally off, if you sell it at whatever value, you can record it as gain as the value was written down to 0. Someone else was saying, that's not legal. It is actually very legal and conservative. They say they might sell but not so sure, so you write it off but look for a venue to offload as it is a packaging related issue not the product being obsolete.
As I wrote, you don't value a company particularly this one with historical financials. You need to look at future projections and do your analysis. Otherwise, harping on the same topics when they were not even able to market their products is truly meaningless. Put your bets, and move on.
