Close friend of top Montreal Mafia figures tried to make deal with securities regulator
Tony Papa offered co-operation in return for ‘help with some of my other problems’
Montreal businessman Tony Papa doesn't like to be called an informant.
But over three interviews spanning a total of 5½ hours, Papa, a close friend of Montreal Mafia figures, voluntarily provided information to investigators at Quebec's securities regulator — the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
A joint fifth estate/Enquête investigation has obtained the audio tapes from the AMF's April 2013 interviews with Papa.
Neal Mukherjee - wonder if he was on the same team as "our" friend Dominic? Is DM still employed as part of that joint Securities Intelligence team that was set up to investigate the scams in Quebec? Maybe CBC needs to look at the whole team that was provided plenty of info about Nguyen and Babikian and Papa as early back as 2009???
