Law Enforcement Associates Receives Multiple Orders for Under Vehicle Inspection Systems and Explosive Detection Kits
Wednesday August 2, 8:00 am ET

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Law Enforcement Associates Corporation (LEA) (Amex: AID - News), a leading provider of surveillance and security products to the global law enforcement, military, security and corrections markets, today announced it recently received orders for four of its Under Vehicle Inspection Systems (UVI) and several hundred of its Explosive Detection Kits (EDKs).

The UVI units will be installed at government facilities in Saudi Arabia and at a major Air Force base in the United States. LEA's UVI system provides check-point operators with high-contrast, real-time video imagery of automotive undercarriages. The systems have been installed at approximately 1,700 locations worldwide, including embassies, military facilities, major sports venues and industrial plants.

LEA also has taken orders from various branches of the U.S. military for more than 300 EDKs, many of which will be used by troops operating in Afghanistan. The kits are designed to provide rapid detection of residue from nitrate-based explosives such as TNT, dynamite, RDX and ammonium nitrates.

"Improvised explosive devices represent a growing threat to both military and civilian personnel in sensitive locations around the world," said Paul Feldman, president. "We are proud that our products are being used to mitigate this danger, and we are working hard to further enhance and expand our suite of IED detection tools."
