Babr, I'm guessing you'll see an improvement in the elasticity of the alveoli after 6+ months of smoking cessation and V. It should be measurable with a normal PFT. Another good quantitative measurement is flow loops. It would be great to collect some data on this and perhaps you could convince a Ph.D./M.D. to research the pulmonary improvements. Are you 100% clinical or do you research?
The elasticity is also a theoretical mechanism of why EPA can improve Left Ventricular function after an MI. Guessing it improves the diastolic function, proving better relaxation of the scar created by the ischemia.
