I use SC all the time.
And I have a lot of browser tabs set up with organized lists of stocks and preset SC charts.
I'll assume the comparison which you are interested in is with regard to Medved Trader.
My use of SC is only at the free level, which doesn't offer a lot of features, so I couldn't make a fair comparison. When looking at the additional features available to members of SC.com, I haven't seen enough reason to coax me toward becoming a member. But I haven't made that comparison for a very long time.
From what I can tell from what others are doing with SC charts, I would never use those as a substitute for a good offline charting program.
You could try out Medved Trader free for a month and decide for yourself.
A major difference between you and me as it relates to trading systems is that you nearly exclusively use intraday charts while I don't. I wouldn't use intraday charts for system analysis at all because it requires a lot more data, a lot more calculation time, and it's all usually averaged together, and so the results wouldn't be any better (IMO).
I think that looking at intraday charts all the time prevents the viewer from seeing a few key characteristics of daily candles that have value when making the kind of trading decisions that should last for days.
I think that what has finally been decided at the end of every trading day by all of those who traded all during that day, and how that has been summarized in five little values of OHLC and V at the end of every day clearly describes what happened during that day without all the other trading noise and anxieties all during that day. And that sets the stage for the following day as all the actors go away.
