Hopefully. Govt agency down there has put it on Nov ballot as a non-binding referendum. If it passes they could start test in Dec or Jan.

I have read two articles that are blaming the rapid expansion of the zika virus boundaries to the oxitec GMM's.
This article is from Jan of this year and the spread across south and now north america in the last 6 months is essentially out of control.
