Ashraf: I wish someone would publish a "family tree" or geneaology of Intel chips..or does one exist alreday? Maybe you? I'm sure that would be a nice article for MF. Could accompany an NVDA family tree, and perhaps some of the asian macro-companies.

In fact, I gather you write Wikipedia articles about these chips (eg, writing about Broadwell sounds like you; lot's of oblique complaints about delays in the timeline). That would be a good repository for a the chip family trees if they're not there already.

TCE: Interesting...

At least they have some differentiating features. So what you are saying is that theoretically you could max clock a single core with TurboMax 3 beyond the regular top frequency? Since they are unlocked, is this sort of a tool that lets you say disable 2 cores and max clock 4 cores? Or just 1 core? That would be the kind of tool that would make it interesting for overclockers. Because right now Turboboost just gets turned off on K chips and max clock is set by most ethusiasts.

The Intel Broadwell-E Review: Core i7-6950X, i7-6900K, i7-6850K and i7-6800K Tested

I'd rather have a i7-6700K. Plenty enough threads and superior single-threaded performance.
