If high volume is not an issue, go inkjet. I recommend the HP Deskjet 970Cse. If I remember, you got or are getting a digital camera. This printer is fast and does a beautiful job with photo prints on the right paper. I like it so much, I own two of them.
IH Admin,{Matt} re a printer..... TigerDirect.com, right now, has a Lexmark i3 on sale for 10-dollars,(after a 40-dollar rebate)...(that's right,$10.00) This is no joke. My printing requirements are about the same as yours seem to be and I bought one of these about four months ago. So far, I have no complaints and am a happy camper....
Here's what's great about this printer....... It's designed to be used as a base for a monitor, like a pedestal. At these prices, I'm thinking of buying another one just to have as a backup.... http://www.TigerDirect.com
