To sum it all up kilianspi:

The bible is full of the lesson that: pain you will have and suffering you will have until you have faith and rise above it.

(I hope the Angels are around that Israeli army today)

More than God's Angels are there.

Zechariah 2:1-13

"5) For I, says the LORD , will be a wall of fire all around her (Jerusalem) and I will be the glory in her midst."

"8) For thus says the LORD of hosts: He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye."

"12) And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem."

The covenant made with Abraham regarding the nation of Israel is still in effect and will be fulfilled once the times of the gentiles (the church) is complete. The existence of God can be seen in nature and in the history of the Jewish people.

As a Bible believing Christian I see us as being in very exciting times, our Lord dealing with the nation of Israel as per Biblical prophecy.

wmft:

Your printing of the shadrach story perfectly illustrates that a lack of faith on his part would have brought him and his associates a fiery death,...

WHERE DO YOU GET THIS FROM THE STORY? YOU ARE READING MORE THAN IS THERE! AGAIN, I ASK YOU, HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THAT IS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED? YOU ARE NOT GOD!

As far as showing you one passage in the bible that would illustrate a lack of faith causes pain...

That's not what I told you to do. I told you to find one passage, one specific verse, that states specifically, I am not saying that you can interpret it that way- I want a verse in which God Himself states that a lack of faith, or sin, is the cause of pain and suffering. Show me one verse. No stories. Verses- God's Word Himself, not someone's misguided interpretation of His Word. You cannot argue with Scripture.

BTW, about the stories you listed:

1) Jesus walking on water- Matthew 14:22-33- According to your logic, Jesus would have let Peter die for his lack of faith. Instead, Jesus saved him from drowning, one of the most painful of deaths.

2) Daniel in the lion's den- Daniel 6
v. 16- 16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

There is no mention of faith on Daniel's part. In fact, Daniel tells why he was delivered from his death:

v. 22- My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Daniel was innocent. He did not mention his faith. If nothing else, the king had faith that Daniel would be delivered: Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. And Daniel also did not say that if he had no faith that he would have been eaten by the lions.

3) David and Goliath- 1 Samuel 17:49-50-
And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

Where do you find in this verse that a lack of faith would have resulted in anything less than Goliath's death? God chose to send the stone into the Philistine's forehead- we don't know, because the Bible doesn't say- that it was based on David's faith.

4) Elisha and his servant being surrounded by the angelic forces- 2 Kings 6:17-
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Israel was not on the "verge of slaughter," as you said. Samarian forces had surrounded Elisha and his servant, due to the efforts of a Samarian spy. And in spite of the servant's unbelief, God still provided and showed the servant the army of angels surrounding him and Elisha.

You still have yet to cite one verse, one Scriptural passage, that supports your viewpoint that a lack of faith caused pain and suffering.
