You're funny, Justin...

40 years too late for a leap without landing in the hospital... <ggg> chuckling quietly as I type.

Dang they grow 'em tall in Texas... No wonder you drive a Buick. GM cars are made for tall people... Fords are built for short people who want to drive big cars. I can't stand Fords. I'm in the land of munchkins here in the "diverse" northeast... with the exception of my little corner... a lot of Kraut blood mixed with other assorted northern European types in the area. I blend.

Hitting my head... yep. I'm about 5'9-1/2" these days... in my youth I was close to 5'10". 21 years of walking on Manhattan concrete carrying everything I own (out here you throw it in the car) compressed my spine and joints a bit. I keep the wood in a dog run behind the garage. The door is low. I have to duck slightly to get in and out... one of the reasons I get sore doing the wood. All the extra bending. When I start getting tired, I forget to duck. Ow ow ow... After the third time, I figure it is time to quit as I am starting to lose concentration. It would probably be easier to wear a watch. ;-)

Only smacking my head once and not too hard in two hours was quite an accomplishment... of course, I wound up talking to myself to remind me not to hit my head every time I approached the door. Whatever works.

May your deceased lawn mower rest in peace. Sounds like a cake with candles should be served at the wake. Good luck with the new one. I'd be curious to know if the larger wheels make a difference... BTW... how big is the yard?

Lawn mower again: Mine is a mulching mower too about the same blade size. Going to come in handy when I tackle the front yard this evening. I can't put it off any longer. The patch where the wood lay for the past two weeks is a disgrace. I'll cut it back and let nature take care of the rest.

Guess I'd better finish up my morning net dink around activity... there's weather to be checked and three horoscopes to read. :-)

Have a good one.

I am attaching an excerpt from a story I wrote about machines, Justin. I owned a "Meager One" at one time.

"As an example of what I mean when I say that machines don’t like me, I cite the lawnmower I bought from Sears way back in the mid 1960’s. The company had placed their reputation on this mower, calling it the “EAGER ONE.” An advertisement on television at the time showed a whole bunch of them on a football field. An attractive (is there any other kind on television?) person went to each of them in turn and they started the very first pull of the starter cord. The message was clear. This mower will start the first time, every time. I have a vision of me yanking on the starter cord and shouting at the top of my lungs, “Dirty ratsafratz! Ramafackalomer! Filoramic packalomer!” I am here to tell you that mower didn’t start the first pull any time I ever pulled the cord. It was so disgusting that Doris took a marking pen and printed a big “M” in front of EAGER, thus changing the mower’s name to MEAGER ONE. Doris and I went to Sears to see what could be done about this reluctant mower and were told that it probably needed a “cold start kit.” This was also remarkable, in that it was June when we were told this. I gave up and got a refund."
When the salesman asked what I was going to do with the refund, I replied, "Buy a Lawn Boy." I did, and the Lawn Boy lasted 12 years.
