More on Powerball: the odds of picking a winning number are approx one in 292 million. So for $584 million, you could buy a wheel guaranteeing a winning number. With an expected payout in the neighborhood of $2.5 billion (including your wager), you would win money if no more than three other people also picked the winning number.
I wouldn't be too surprised if a syndicate bought a wheel. Any takers? :)
