To this point "that's a long time for people on the fence to drool over shiny S7s
while waiting for the next AAPL bump."
It's a matter, IMO , of whom is capturing the new consumer market, AAPL or Samsung ?
Because I believe it's Samsung directly appealing to the youth. Trends come from the youths, proven time and again.
Should Samsung capture the new generations , then going forward it's a major COUP for them.
AAPL may still lead in overall sales for a while, but capturing the youth will propogate loyalty from a young age, and as the TREND of more new consumer entrants choosing Samsung grows, then Samsung gets the "cool " factor on their side, and that begets a whole nother existing consumer market share grab, as adults increasingly want to be " younger / hipper/ " in " ( if you will).
I think AAPL is missing loosing the battle for the youth at this point, and I don't think they are really focusing on it. Again , may not be a concern for market share in the immediate , but it will eventually force AAPL to address and reconfigure marketing and appeal to get that coveted foothold w the youth, or risk drifting more toward " your grand moms smart phone" over the coming years / decades . Can it happen that way? Seems unlikely until I recite these next three letters : AOL
