got 16GB RAM, and ETPro is still running in the background while hidden
so that's not the issue.

i really think it's the GPU & CPU overheating
as soon as ETPro starts rendering all my charts in hi-res.
java is a great tech, but notoriously inefficient and CPU-intensive.

the fans spin up as the CPU/GPU heat up
and eventually the machine freezes.

the more i think about it,
the more a 5k imac seems an optimal purchase...
