Short? $2.4 quadrillion in margin requirement?
My math says the now suffering Short pilgrim in OTC land shorted 6K shares at $2/shr.
If this had happened during market hrs, he probably could have threatened to go to FINRA, making Etrade eat the loss beyond his $37K. Depending on how fast the spike would've occurred in the regular session. But alas, it occurred before market open. The easy grab of close to $12K, grabbed him instead.
I know Fidelity's account tracking compooter doesn't wake up, until market hrs. TDA's is sort of alive, and can display some weird results for account balances. But it probably wouldn't have reacted any different than Etrade.
