OT-Nobody's right and nobody's wrong, but it all reminds me of my Lab dog who won't release the tennis ball after he fetches it, or an old roomate couple who would come storming in the house argueing. You'd let each speak their peace, and then the other would deny it all and go on pointing fingers at each other. You could never figure out who was right or wrong. It was just a lot of feeling they had about something and didn't know what to do with it. no biggie in the big picture.

I'll accept your apology in adavance. Here is Julie Cunningham's Email reply about WCDMA BASE STATION chip sets:
Dear Mr. XXXXXX:

We are not currently developing an infrastructure chip product for WCDMA. We had a project underway years ago, as you correctly mention. We decided not to proceed when it became apparent that many of the infrastructure manufacturers were planning to use their own infrastructure chips for WCDMA -- there didn't appear to be enough demand to justify the R&D effort. We have announced multiple phone chips (MSM5200 and MSM6xxx family) which will support WCDMA, so our efforts will continue to focus on supporting our customers with this WCDMA product road map.

Ms. Cunningham,
Can you supply me with any data concerning any QCOM chipsets for WCDMA base stations (Cell site Modems). The only refernece I can find is to an almost 3 year old press release on the CSM5200 chip. It is no longer listed as a product available from QCOM? Is it going to be produced or will QCOM have some other chip for use in WCDMA base stations?

Sincerely, XXXXXX
