They do sell both. On the consumer side, every model lets you choose Intel or AMD. It looks as if the commercial side will be the same soon.

Based on, what? Have you looked at a Best Buy or Circuit City flyer recently? Based on the flyers, you wouldn't guess that HP sells Intel-based notebooks at all. The desktops come in about 60/40, in favor of AMD.
