MON is not seeking to replace its GMO products, which remain highly profitable; however, it’s a poorly understood fact that MON spends 50% of R&D on conventional breeding rather than GMOs. We can probably agree that this % will increase somewhat in the coming years.

As far as I can tell, China’s regulatory delays are not related to GMOs per se, but rather are China’s way of penalizing multinational companies who don’t form all-encompassing JVs with Chinese companies for their commercial operations in China.
