PW,

No need to disappear, all of us enjoy your input.

It's not the part that's left in the gun that's expensive, it's the part that leaves that's expensive. It is simply cheaper to reload the part that stays instead of throwing it away and buying new ammo.

That and picking up the empty catridges also. Other than being a nice person, there is not much use in picking up spent cartriges if you don't reload them.

BTW, Joe was only here for one day, he got das boot again. (prearranged, per Joe)

Have fun,
Phil

P.S. I was going to wish you a happy 4TH, but remembered you are from Canada. Have a nice day anyway.

Thank You!

No need to disappear, PM. Your take on the matter is pretty accurate. It has always bothered me a bit that people can carry a full can of soda into the woods, but after drinking it, it is too heavy to carry out to a trash can. The same is true with ammunition.

I can reload a box of shells for less than half what a box of new ones from one of those automated factories would cost me, and I have another thing to do that links me to my activities in the outdoors. I enjoy doing it, and there is a sense of accomplishment when you perfect a really good load that your gun shoots accurately. Of course, gun haters wouldn't understand that.

Stick around, my friend.

Hey, don't disappear! That post summed up the whole handloading experience very eloquently (your posts are always a joy to read).

Thanks!
