It would depend on the nature of the word "limited".

Maybe there is still marketing value in delivering "limited" sapphire screens before others.

Wasn't that 6% as of nearly a year ago? Or is that still a current number? At this point I honestly don't know if gtat completely halted sapphire production across the board, when that happened if so, or if they scaled back. Obviously what apple will be using (if the leak is true) had to come from somewhere, 6% might be enough for the camera covers in limited amount but what would be the point? Unless they were just using up what the had because they had it. It either points to something bigger or its completely meaningless I guess.

Has Apple ever been know to do something "limited" that wasn't a money making/marketing ploy? Maybe this is just saving face after the gtat bk...

So was it only 6% because of processing problems or limitations of boule production itself? I'm betting it was processing the boules to Apple specs that caused the slowdown, not the ability to grow 165k boules.

And, again, of course it can be pulled off. You pretty much only need to match the iPhones manufactured till presentation time, and that's never supposed to be a lot due to that East German marketing craze. That's like 15M/2. Piece of cake. And yes, I expect them to do a dual edition launch with an AR and screen protection upmark since the additional benefits are well worth it.
