Gamco, so why doesn't Microsoft settle with IDCC?

Maybe because there are no 'cross licensing' opportunities between Microsoft and InterDigital?

Or maybe because Microsoft got ton's of money from Nokia and now that it may have to write off its goodwill price in the purchase, it is counting on using the money from the contingent liability to offset some of what it is writing off.
