Ah, now you've stumbled onto the biggest scams of all - scamming the business development folks in Big Pharma who need to do deals to make their bonuses and move up in the organization.
The biggest, most sophisticated tech scams are perpetuated on the business development folks, CEO, and boards of BigTech and BigPharma.
I've seen total bullshit slide past tech diligence at BigOrgs and smaller tech companies purchased just to meet the BigOrg management's deal quota for the year. The tech diligence is rushed and bullied through by the biz devel folks. By the time the BigOrg realizes it's bought a pig in a poke and writes down the loss as "goodwill" it's years later and the biz dev folks are already three years of bonuses and promotions behind them and they make sure it gets perceived internally as a simple late-stage technology failure - not the fault of the biz dev folks 3 years ago.
Those are the real scams. Where HUGE money is made in very short time. I've seen companies with NOTHING get bought for BILLIONS. Private and public small tech companies.
It's all about SALESMANSHIP (aka bullshit).
