Great....now I have to go to McDonalds for a movie??? Personally, I don't think it will last. IMO there is no difference between getting in my car and driving to Hollywood video to pick up a movie. I think more people spend more time on computers than in the car or at McDonalds. Which is easier? BTW just because it is high demand doesn't mean you wont get it; don't think that redbox won't run out of high demand movies??? Think about that.

goldie, why are you here cheerleading for Red-Box on a GZFX dvd rental stock board? It has to be called bashing and I never thought you would stoop so low.

gold-

I don't think it's that many people being so eager to have to return to McD to return the movie. I admit it's convenient but I see it just as another alternative for yet another demographic and not as serious threat for GnF. 35-40 new release movies per kiosk? And just how many copies of each movie does the kiosk hold at any given time. You're there and want a certain one only to find out that they're just out of stock around that time (come back another day...)

All red box locations (4) in my area are 50yds (half a football field) away from the McD's. If I have a mind to get a fillet-O-fish with extra tartar, FRESH med fri, and a half strawberry half chocolate shake; I'm parking as close to the door as I can.
Where these redboxes work best are near college dorms, in large cities with condos, and commuter "sleepy-towns" like Manassas, Va. where if it ain't in a strip mall, it ain't worth going to.
I've researched them. They will have their day in the sun. They are capitalizing on the rash of boutique marketing strategies that are now so popular. But they are a fad of the industry. Why not do both?

goldy: And that I don't understand at all. McDonald's...coffee? It sucks! I can make a MUCH better cup/pot of coffee at home (and do everyday) for a fraction of the price and hassle.

mmmmmm....fresh brewed. :P
