#398257 RE: bulldzr #398253

bulldzr: To answer you questions.

1. Just what is this case about?

This trial only covers patent infringement for the '151 patent. The '151 patent was originally included in the previous ZTE trial; however, based on testimony during that trial the Judge decided that he had erred in his claim construction. Rather than declaring a mistrial, he took the '151 patent out of that trial, for a separate trial.

2. Win or lose, how will this affect IDCC's previous court victory against ZTE, if at all?

Since the the'151 patent was eliminated from the previous trial, the decision in this trial should have no effect on the previous trial judgement.

3. What does IDCC have to gain in a win, or lose in a loss in this case?

A win adds more patents that can be upheld in IDCC's favor during any appeal process. It also adds to the amount of damages that can be collected. A loss would naturally be the opposite.
